UNESCO-IFCD-UNIOSUN × Annual Òríkì (Praise Poetry) Yoruba Festival

Photographs from the UNESCO-IFCD-UNIOSUN Project's collaboration with the Annual Oriki (Praise Poetry) Yoruba Festival on the 14th of December 2024. The event featured participants from several cultural groups across Yorubaland, over 40 traditional rulers and chiefs, and foreign visitors. Prof. Olukoya OGEN delivered the keynote and was decorated as "Distinguished Yoruba Cultural Ambassador." The event was streamed live with audiences in the US, Canada and the Caribbean.

UNIOSUN to Collaborate with FG and UNESCO on Safeguarding Intangible Cultural Heritage

The UNESCO-IFCD-UNIOSUN Project, based at Osun State University, partners with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) to promote the socio-economic empowerment of Yoruba oral artists and preserve the Yoruba culture. This collaboration includes training youths in Yoruba oral arts and reinforcing African cultural heritage through projects like the annual Òríkì (Praise Poetry) Yoruba Festival.
